Was this an ABP story?
A bit like when they dropped the dead price by 2p last week saying they were too full to take any more, and the live price has jumped 10p.

This time of the year Cows become short, even more so as the milk price is so high. Cows that are out grazing now will be kept until the Autumn before being culled, here and in the EU.
Our local market had the lowest number of Cows this week for a long time!

The demand for mince continues to increase.
Short week next week so probably see trade back abit

When I’m doing my own it’s sole destroying. My ewes are nice to shear but can’t get into the rhythm because have to worm lambs, fill pens and wrap wool. Every 10 sheep have to stop. Lovely job when Me and my mate can shear out of a race trailer with people do all the other jobs, 250 a day is much easier than 150 on my own.
I want to know how you do what you do

Don’t worry mine went out ages ago and now they’re all back in for 5 days for testing. They weren’t best pleased! Sat waiting on one calving now…looks like it’ll need the vink on it
One TB test in 4 years.. what bliss that would be!

In 4 years the min tests you will do in this part of the country is 8 full TB tests + if you go down add at least another 8 tests on that + blood testing so could easily be 18/20 full herd TB tests every 4 years in this part of the country!

Dear Woodheads supplier,

In recognition of the great work being done by so many of you already on our Net Zero programme, we are today announcing a new ‘Sustainable Beef and Lamb Scheme’ for farmers. Participating farms will be asked to measure their carbon footprint by our carbon consultant company Map of Ag, test the health of their soils, audit their farm’s biodiversity, and monitor both resources and waste on their farms on an annual basis - and then develop resulting action plans.

We’re working with Red Tractor to assess the programme under their new ‘Environment’ module. This means that any accreditation you get can be used by you for any customer - not just Morrisons. We’re also going to cover the cost of accreditation from Red Tractor in the first year as part of the programme.

But that’s not all: we’re also going to be unveiling a list of free advice from trusted experts you can access as well as discounts on products and services available to farmers who are accredited on the programme.

And we’re starting to offer payment premiums for sustainable beef: this will launch with Morrisons contracted dairy beef suppliers, where a 10p/kg premium will be paid for any cattle finishing under 18 months’ old on a sustainable diet, who are also part of our net zero agriculture programme. We’ll also be extending premiums for suckler and store finisher cattle in the months to come.

We’ll be in touch in the coming weeks with full details about the standard, how you can take part, and importantly, how you can access the incentive packages that go with this.

We know that getting to net zero through sustainable farming is a challenge, but we want to continue to work with you to champion great British food from farms we know and trust.

Kind regards
Woodheads Livestock Team

I've had a similar 'offer'.
I said I would be more than happy to do it if they could assure me it would in no way affect my current plans to sell carbon/ biodiversity credits.
I've yet to receive a reply.
Rather suggests they think they can buy your credits for 10p.

This is what I can’t understand. They say all farming is a long way from being carbon neutral but there’s a lot of interest in our land for the value of commercial carbon credits to sell on in the future
