yep and we are all just waiting for all the other farmers to do just that
it will happen, lots of people still have not got a clue , how they are going to survive post bps. unless things change with Elms huge changes ahead, opportunities for some, the end of businesses for others, I really feel for people heavily renting their ground .The bit i do is such a cr....p margin, and people always want more for it.

yep its going to be tough, it may even finish us off yet which is why I was so keen to hear of ideas for getting our selling price up.

think I remember reading that when they done away with subsidies in NZ three times as many supply business went out of business as farmers or something like that

In NZ it was said that 90% of suppliers went bust and 10% of farmers when the sub stopped.

I did suggest we put forward our increased costs of feed fuel and fertiliser as main subject to some of the main processors to get us an increase in price which we need
This would only be a starting point there’s more to be done with accounts and such like after that
It’s worked for the dairy farmers so why won’t it work for us as beef and lamb/sheep suppliers?
Don’t keep saying there’s no answers when I’ve given you plenty

I thought it was a lot more but the difference is NZ got rid of all of it over here they will still supply for doing this ELMS and grants but there is nart much in the for the farmer

I agree that it is the processors that have to go to the supermarkets and say look if you want to have a product to sell you are going to have to increase the price. If we as farmers do it they’ll just ignore us.

yes you did I remember now, what did they say ?
Well you didn’t back me up you just argued and said we didn’t need any of these inputs to produce anything anyway kind of dilutes the argument doesn’t it?
Then kept asking what the answer was a good few times even though I gave you one which seemed a good starting point.
Now you are selling cattle you don’t need to sell

At the end of the day they have as much and more to loose than we do
Part of this money problem is inflation which we cannot be left out of for various people’s financial benefits

If only we had a agricultural union to represent us.

I often wonder where that levy on fat sales ends up.🤔
