not quite made my mind up weather I prefer these texel x Charolais lambs Iv just started killing which have taken a bit longer to get there but they don’t trough too much creep and are a real tidy lamb or the Suffolk lambs that eat there body weight in creep but apart from a handful are all long gone now

How do you tag the calves when calved outside? I calve outside and always struggle to get them tagged.
Thats my job and i dread the day,especially if its hot and it usually is.Race trailers for shearers catching pen for farmers , ive seen farmers working harder than shearers poking big fat ewes up race
On a normal year the long gone suffolks should be the most profitable but this year there hasnt seemed to be any premium in lambing them early to capitalise on the spring lamb job. Sent some April born singles off yesterday that will make as much as the ones i lambed in January. Funny old game.Thankyou

I wouldnt miss anythjng to do with clipping sheep , my least favourite job of the year , if the wool was dear id like it more but working for nowt but a cost is not my bag .
Won’t find out until 7-8 tonight they’re a bit steady on emailing the list over at rugby… was hoping to hang around today and see them sell because it was probably the best draw of lambs Iv ever produced so pretty proud of them so didn’t need too hide away
but like always stuff gets in the wayEwes less
