Winter yes, but it usually ends up in a cold spring too if it sets in hard.

There was a man on Tuesday at Kirkby had some Beltex lambs in. He pulled the 4 biggest out and put them through the fat and they made £111.
Put the rest through the stores and they made £113

They've right short memories... 2021 was bloody cold almost all of Jan and Feb. It was brilliant

I loved 2010 winter, -15 through the day and not a cloud in the sky. No rain/snow for months - christ the sheep did well with the sun on their backs

Sheep did well but we had no running water in the house for more than a fortnight in 2010

Lambed ewes on the same snow they were tupped on .

Those guy up sell at dingwall will need every penny and more, very hard countryside, defo think that report was over the top.

I wouldn’t be too hard on him for the report he loves a bit of hyperbole and they had a very successful day . One of the hardest working auctioneers out there he deserved a bit of trumpet blowing.

+1 started snowing here the day the tups went out. Was still snowing when the lambs started dropping. At Christmas 2010 we had a level 2 feet in the yard and -21. Did nothing for 2 weeks but thaw water troughs
