If the demand/need is there it will. These are independent firms with their own ships sending stock to Libya and turkey what's to stop them coming over and setting up here? Build their own lairage/berth and run independently of ferry firms and port authorities. It's only lack of real numbers stopping it happening at the moment but if we go down the WTO route the lambs will have to go somewhere that's for sure
The problem with dedicated ferry firms are the Animal Rights Mob who have a target that is easy to attack. If livestock go on scheduled ferries that run 24 hours a day and 7 days a week it is impossible for them to target every load.
This is why the Irish cattle that travel through Dover never have an issue.
