I think those smaller stores haven’t been that exciting right though. Those better end cattle have been good and quietly gone up the smaller ones have had less of a lift. They are wanting them at 12 o clock almost. Or that looks like the case where I go. I know you had a good sale at the biking sale before Christmas they looked a good trade to me when I read the report. I knew of some of the cattle to value them as well
Agree with you these younger cattle haven’t been so exciting but they are starting to move Dingwall on their first sale were a very good trade £3.24 a kg for stots average and Thainstone last Friday £3.18 they’re kicking these good younger cattle off at £1k over they’re weight

Those cattle you are quoting I bet are good well farmed types. There’s still a good trade for those. Some of these smaller stores off the hill tops farmed against sheep not big for the age are the ones that maybe take a bit more shifting.

Kirkby yesterday a lot would be making £1500 and upwards over their weight
Dropped some sheep in before and there was some cattle left in from yesterday so had a bit of a nosy at them, 10-12 month old well farmed beast. Being pushed on so looked well. 300-350kg at a guess. Reconned they were £1500.
They’re going to have to be knocking on £2.5k fat to turn any money on them aren’t they?

Maybe slightly heavier but wouldn’t be much.

Yes that was how I reckoned them up whilst watching ..8 or 9 month 300 kg steers were £1800 or thereabouts.....if the were show types £2000 upwards

Well it’s not coming from me…I’d rather let Luke littler use my arse as dart practice than pay £1800 for an 9 month old bullock to get £2150 a year later

Some of those still there would be mainly 8-10 month old, good things around 320kg £1400-£1600. If they are who's cattle I think they are.
