We must get all these fudgin' sheep weigher manufacturers investigated - it seems to be a countrywide problem. They shouldn't be allowed to sell us such dodgy scalesHahaha it’s not just Stewatry hill and me then
Well that’s four of us now! I wonder how many more of us there is??We must get all these fudgin' sheep weigher manufacturers investigated - it seems to be a countrywide problem. They shouldn't be allowed to sell us such dodgy scales
I've never sold in Longtown but my scales seem to be out by the same amount compared to the ones at my local mart .
Frome market today ,
most pens of lambs around the £70 +- (£68 - 74) mark ,for 42kg lambs, wasnt a lot of variation, yellows sold better than blues , best price i saw was 56s yellow for £80 , and £76 for blues
Russell the auctioneer at Exeter is not a happy bunny it would seem.

Who are they working for? The farmer that brings them there or the buyer. Should be the former. Sell live and thrive they say.We must get all these fudgin' sheep weigher manufacturers investigated - it seems to be a countrywide problem. They shouldn't be allowed to sell us such dodgy scales

Agree wholeheartedly,Without the livestock markets deadweight prices for both cattle and sheep would be a lot lower than they currently are!
What's difference in yellows/blues apart from colour
Trade for Lambs at Frome today was UP over 5pk to level around 1.66pk.
Prime cattle also UP a fair whack on the week as well.
It was a Jewish abattoir wasn’t it?Told by our local ABP agent that Mutch Meats have gone bust today.

That be a market grader?blue line is right finish and the ones that the trade want "we are told"
yellow line is slightly fatter lambs but they usually sell better . (often creep / roots ones)
