£120?!Absolutely. I have it on good authority that if you stick to knitting needles in your ears and say ‘wibble’ repeatedly, it will all go away.
Unfortunately, as repeatedly pointed out, that is one very possible scenario if we get ‘no deal’, whether you like it or not.
Personally, I think that ‘no deal’ is slightly less likely than a month ago, either through a last minute deal being done, or through an extension of Article 50. The vocal proponents of a hard deal within Westminster, are increasingly being shown own up for the self serving egotists that they are, imho, and Parliament seemingly has no appetite for ‘no deal’ at any cost.
I still think £200/hd for hoggets is a pipe dream, but I’ll take £120 (for mid-40kg lambs) as a more sensible bonanza.

£120?!
As a butcher once said to meAbsolutely. No way on earth that lambs can be bought at £200 and the meat sold against other meats. Most butchers were losing money last year, just to keep lamb on the counter, they won’t be in a hurry to do it again. More likely to promote other meats to their customers, whether beef or (far cheaper) white meats.
Reportedly some of last year’s spike was also down to lamb having been sold forward on retail contracts, then the processors being caught short when the numbers weren’t there as expected. Again, unlikely to get caught again.
Good luck if you are holding out for £200, but I fear you may be waiting a while.
