I’d say the grid reflects the cattle they want and get. Price for U and E not something I worry about fattening HolsteinsCrap bonus on a U+ and E
So I’m guessing they docked you 45p off the 415 O-3I’d say the grid reflects the cattle they want and get. Price for U and E not something I worry about fattening Holsteins
3.25 base, back 35p to 2.90 for a o-3. So the first one at 369kg comes to 1070. Came in as a bucket calf a week old for £10. I’d argue there is as much profit in that as anything. So I’m guessing they docked you 45p off the 415 O-3
What age were they when killed? Up around 30 months I guess.3.25 base, back 35p to 2.90 for a o-3. So the first one at 369kg comes to 1070. Came in as a bucket calf a week old for £10. I’d argue there is as much profit in that as anything.
Yeah, some where over as tail enders from the last 100 or so. Some roughed on for two summers to grow frame. What age were they when killed? Up around 30 months I guess.
I’m not saying they didn’t do you well. But when you think if they were 30 months you had about £1.10 to feed them a day for all their life. Admittedly the first 12 months you might of been in profit the last 18 months didn’t leave a lot. Not that any of that is your fault. Just goes to show our rubbish beef price!Yeah, some where over as tail enders from the last 100 or so. Some roughed on for two summers to grow frame.
I was just telling someone else, I roughed them on too long on good silage and a few kilo barley stalling hoping the price would rise, it didn’t but that’s the game. Sold the last of our cattle at Darlington today. Happy enough with the trade as they were only small. Won't have made a penny on them though. Last time I will need to stand around a mart, although I may have to go for my lunch every so often.
