I have just been informed ( 9-30 am on Monday morning ) that there is currently no plans to close either Sedgemoor or any other livestock markets for the foreseeable future at this time.

Which of course is great news for everyone

Quite right too. A very low risk if everybody does what their supposed to. However farmer’s hygiene is terrible. Whenever I use the toilets at a market you hardly ever see anyone wash their hands.
Its up to all of us to do our bit.

I got told of a ewe higher than that, £280 plus from memory.

Ewes off the clock in lancaster this morning ave £143 topped at £239, hoggs ave 266ppk topped £160

Especially when there is a shortage of bog rolls and the docks aren't big enough yet !!!

I took 36 culls in today, some Charollais but mostly 60-65kg Highlanders, and all leaner (& muddier) than I would normally like to sell them. Just heard they averaged £127.

Hoggs averaged 255p apparently.
