I was talking to a dealer friend a month ago he bought lambs early on £60/£80 in August/September put them on dairy farms then weighed them in October/November and they had mainly been in around the £140 mark
Those lambs have mostly gone now and he and many others have got money to spend for the next lot. That’s what is making stores so dear I think.
Anything bought now looks chancy but so did some of the £80 plus lambs earlier on
£100 for something similar now is no more money in many ways

Except in the way that you have too write out a bigger cheque? Like, the most important way…

A guy l know bought 1000 lmbs at the cally, including some of my smaller types, would be last week of August or very first week September and 75 was his limit, he has the run of 700 acres threw in Fife, obviously he would need more than that, but he will do well with those lmbs, anymule was up around that time. Normally doesn't sell till march. Used to buy top pen lmbs put says he can make as much out 3rd draws and abit cheaper to buy.

Yes that’s the trouble but £80 early on probably ends up £100 now by the time keep and the rest is added on
Still parting with more money as you say
I never expected those early stores to almost double when finished October/November they are usually worth not much more in that same period

They were £3.92 for cattle this week to Joe public, Or if you were a favorite and regular you could get a whopping £3.96!!!!

The market report said everything was on fire,and a fantastic trade,but i watched a few weaners on line,and i thought ordinary dairy bred quality were nothing special.Still a long way short of last March-June. Strong stores in Ring 2 at £1800 would be straight to kill,would they not?

Didn't see a lot of dairy bred when I was watching. I saw the averages posted by an auctioneer and they must have had a hell of a show as there's always a few to drop the average normally.
Stores at that price would frighten the hell out of me. By the time you take about £70 for commission and luck you would think they shouldn't pay to sell in there, just send them straight to kill but if the buyer can make money on them good luck to him. Most of us probably couldn't.

Yes, they do seem to have a range of prices. Others on here usually 10p above.

Pleased with my ewes at longtown today £134 average for texel x and char x with a few Suffolk , not the biggest ewes

I often think they should be moved on a bit sooner but they don’t half look the part
