My pal won’t use digestate, says it kills all the worms? He seen a field spread with it and there was a mineral bucket left and underneath it was a mass of worms trying to get away from the stuff
We looked at using it this year but a friend who uses a lot has lost some cows due to it so just bought some fert instead

I dont like the stuff but tbf my lagoons dirty water will bring worms to the top and make them wriggle like its killing them but dig down weeks later and the earths alive with them.

Very much depends what is going into the AD plant. Ag produce (silage/muck etc) going in should be perfectly fine coming out. Problem arises when some of these plants are using food and other waste products, then you have no idea what you are bringing onto your farm
