So Australia have their biggest flock for 15 years
along with improved genetics adding to bigger carcass weights .
They want a bigger slice of the EU market to add to their excellent trade deal with the UK.
UK supermarkets all jumping ship together regarding the back/buy british produce first policy.
The question is are we only just entering the eye of the storm ?
Is there anything positive left for commercial UK lamb production ?
Someone tell me im over analysing and over simplifying things.
It will be fine because all the experts said get rid of the cows and concentrate on more sheep.

Hoggs much the same trade today as they’ve been since the turn of the year. Got rid of the last ones that had been on feed. I thought they looked well but there’s no real demand, buyers have a price , they’re not pushing each other along, just going through motions 🤷🏼‍♂️

Not a bad price for the year

That's everything gone apart from 40 small hoggs which will probably go end of May, they need a month on good grass, just marking time at the moment, but I don't want to spend any money on them. What's been sold to date has averaged bang on £120, down from £135 last year, and I don't want to talk about costs
I know it was me that encouraged you to feed them. I still think you will be on the right side those are decent prices the way the job is

I still think it was worth feeding them, there's just not quite as much money in the bank as last year. :ROFLMAO:

I think the people who have really lost out are those who didn't feed and are selling stores now. They were probably worth as much if not more last october.
