I reclaimed that field about twenty years ago , whish i had done 100 acre not just ten , one of the most productive ten acres i have , local fella drained it for me with a ford 555 digger , he made a great job .

The old boy (81) who works with me said yesterday that farming land that you reclaimed yourself is as close the heaven as you can get, seeing it reverted back to scrub after it was sold (tenant farmer) was as close to hell. 🙁
Be about right , i take silage off that field and always yeilds well its One the better days of the year for me , one of the neighbours called it Alans folly, he never reclaimed any land or built anything or really did very much ,,,, you the type done nothing but criticises all the dooers …

There’s a hell of a lot bought out the stores for that job
Then on the other hand a mate of mine bought some couples which were non fab....after about 3 weeks he sold some of the lambs to ABP not thinking about the Fab bit as he is assured they docked him a pound a kilo on the lambs he bought...traced them through the tags. lesson learn,t he cut the rest of the tags out and put one of his own in...what a mad world we are in

I often wonder with this hogg job these store hoggs bought to kill probably pulls the price for the lot back. Same as the underfinished ones through the prime sales. I’m not saying anything wrong about anyone who does it that’s up to them but it makes you wonder in a year like this there’s less properly fed sheep about and coincidentally the price is crap no one is moaning at the far end about all these lean sheep they seem happy enough with them

Proper butchers still buy well fed stuff you can’t sell that blue stuff out of a proper shop
