With abp or dunbia its not so much the grade, but its the fat class that pisses me of. How can you keep a lamb lean when its still on its mother and grassDo they grade many as E’s though that’s the problem

How many of them are still alive?I got some I paid £10 for going this week, could be 7 times more than I paid for them.

pure bred black Welsh mountain, good little lambs actually, we had one done for the freezer, came back very well
Interesting result. I’ve always kept a few as a bit of a hobby really but they’re so low maintenance, I’m tempted to cross them maybe with some llyns, try and get the weight up a bit. They’re an underrated breed in my view.£90, the small one was 28kg the biggest was 34kg

There was another pen of black lambs there, i will let @Henarar post what they made as i know him and @Northeastfarmer like to have a good chin wag about what a cracking breed of sheep they areInteresting result. Black Lambs Matter. I’ve seen it on the news. I think.

Ewes not rearing lambs might as well go as cull now rather than risk them being the same next year, Iv got 14 one/two crop ewes going this week for my self and 20 for work (most would be young) that are heading that way for that reason. These good ewes that are worth £120+ might as well be replaced with a £80 ewe lamb out of the flock.Yet again another massive entry of cull ewes at nearly 1800 head penned today at Sedgemoor.
But 90% of them were not really cull ewes but big well fleshed ewes that still had plenty of life left in them..
Very very rare to see so many sheep of such high quality/ young ages in the cull pens like today!
