Anyone else on an early beet contract been sent an invoice for over payment of haulage? Pretty irritating.

Not on the first load. They were from the middle of the field and were tidy. The later and first lifted ones have been through. Mainly for getting bit more top off rather than dirt.

I'll look at the returns in the morning and see what they say.

Sunday 8mm and Tuesday just over 4mm.
Saturday was a rum good dry. Yesterday and today have been pretty good.

While Cantley and Wissy are still open (not sure how much longer for Wissy ) time is ticking on. Forecast from tomorrow evening isn't great, pretty much showers every or every other day with amounts of 4mm or so every time. Another 7 to 10days of that would make it go backwards. I figured with the higher temp and stronger wind that it was an opportunity to have a go.

Because we are pretty much last to lift for the contractor, meant that they could come at drop of the hat, like wise for the BBMBH. He's only our beet to cart now. He's also got a weekend away end of the month. And corn to cart from mid week next week. So really it all aligned to have a go. Only 2 spots they sunk in. Rest of the field has been left tidy

The BMBH was scooping ours off the dirt in January and putting them straight over the side with tares of 4s and 5s ......of course a good bloke on the harvester makes all the difference!!!!

Cantley closing 15th April and Newark 10th April. I’ve got a 1000 ton in a heap but should go on Tuesday. Thank god !
