Beet drilling depth

Got a couple of fields of Beet left to Drill, how deep dare I Drill it to find moisture?

Check behind the drill and go as deep as is necessary to get it half an inch into the moist layer.
Roll it if it won’t blow.
Care and attention is critical at this point. Get it right and it will be fine. Go too shallow and you will get nothing.
