Beet yields 2020

Very envious. Drilled several patches of last field into golf ball sized rubble
Badger sh!t lime stone
Question is do you roll it
Stand on clod and it crumbles
Oil radish done a good job
Got ten acre over hedge for neighbour to do 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Was ploughed late after spuds , came up like sow sides not bacon ones 😳😳😳. Been over it twice and rolled 3 times 😓

Does it need rolling???? The drill looks like it's put the seed in well, covered it and pressed it nicely. 👍👍👍

With the forecast looking dry for the foreseeable, it wouldn't hurt to roll it as long as it doesn't crush it to dust and it blows or gets wet and seals.

That’s what I thought roll it will go to dust as you say , and get a lot of rain will go tight. , won’t blow

1/3 before, 2/3 after. Though this year applying it all on the seedbed probably wouldn’t have mattered as it’s had zero rain. I think that’s what they do in dry countries like France.
Applied my last dose yesterday. Most emerged anc what isn’t emerged either never will be or will be unviably late.

Betanal Tandem needs applying in 80-100 litres/ha of water. Used. to spray Betanal MaxxPro @ 140l/ha so need to buy a new set of nozzles, what would people recommend please?

Teejet XR 110 015 Flat fans have served us well over the years. Fine spray from 1 to 4 barg. I run them at 4 barg 8 kph to give me 102 litres per hectare.
Cheap and cheerful though not low drift. Nothing really is low drift that will give a fine spray and decent coverage at those volumes.

This year I am trying some Arag 110 02 that don't have a star rating but are supposed to be low drift. I think they were an end of line discounted sale as can't seem them available now.
I'd go for the Teejets as above. No orifice plate so less to block up, easy to clean etc.

But you can spend more and maybe get more use out of them on other crops. We use 03 low drift on all other crops as we like a bit of water volume.
