How much is it per ton ex Daventry, or in big bags.
He was one if the hosts for the beef expo farm walks last year, had a lot of the cattle in big outdoor yards surrounded by concrete panels, bedded on woodchip and just tipped the feed into big feed bunkers with a loader. They did look very well on it.I was just going to tag you, and there's not much John doesn't know about feeding cattle, very nice guy.
There looks more straw than grub
Looks like what the livery next door shovel out the stables
Whats in it? What cost ex yard?
Must be at £168/TIn that case it's just rocket fuel straw then.

That’s less than whole barley
In between Southam and Napton, I stop there for a bacon buttie and to give the trailer tyres a break. There was a very good burger van in a layby but can't remember where, but was close to a canal and a wind mill on top of a small hill.
We used to run a lorry out of there up to about 20 years ago. Some of you long standing customers may have dealt with Nicola years ago, a long time friend of mine.
At that time it was a constant influx of oat feed, pot ale syrup from The Highland distillers, cooked cereal from Cherwell Valley, crisps from KP, Smiths and Walkers, potato feed, minerals etc etc. You name it, it was in it!!
We delivered bags and bulk. It smelt lovely and farmers spoke well of it. We couldn’t compete in rates with a local chap who used Unimogs and Fastracs to haul for them too so we packed the job in after about 18 months.
Bit of a bugger, but that’s business sometimes. John Bell is a smashing chap and I would think what he doesn’t know about finishing cattle isn’t worth knowing.
I was told recently that years ago he trialled finishing cattle on some sort of treated and fermented chicken manure. Apparently it was great stuff but was stopped by some authority or other. Not 100% sure it was John, but definitely somebody out that way.
I wouldn't know but @harperfarmer handles that feed.@PostHarvest , @harperfarmer , @sticky ,@RAF , just wondered if you could help me out, been feeding the stock 14 or beef 14 cant remember what its called at grass, getting yearlings in at the minute and about to mix it in with silage, weigh scales are not working, didn't get time to look today but imagine rats have been having fun. I have a standard 8ft jcb bucket, just wondered if any of you knew what weight the berrystock would be? Cant see a great deal of difference between feeds, I was thinking a level bucket around 380 kilo?
They do lamb finisher feeds.Could it be fed to store hogs? be handy just have one feed in
There beef 16 weighs 700kg compared to 1000kg of barley if that helps@PostHarvest , @harperfarmer , @sticky ,@RAF , just wondered if you could help me out, been feeding the stock 14 or beef 14 cant remember what its called at grass, getting yearlings in at the minute and about to mix it in with silage, weigh scales are not working, didn't get time to look today but imagine rats have been having fun.
