best dealer boots

should add that I have Redbacks for on the farm and find them superbly comfortable. BUT the soles are made of soft cheese and wear out way before the rest of the boot. It’s hot so bad I’m thinking of looking for something else with a safety toe cap.
Yes, the soles do wear out first, but I think I get at least five years of use before they start to get little worn-through bits on the cleats, which is pretty good when I consider what they go through. (y)

Thread title is “best dealer boot” doesn’t specify for what use. In that case there can only be one contender and that’s RM Williams, nothing else comes close. If you want a harder wearing pair than their Craftsman boot go for the Gammon boot.

Craftsman is very much a very expensive “dress” boot that I certainly wouldn’t wear for work

yes - they are an excellent boot, but I wouldn’t compare them to Mongrel or Blundstone or Oliver “work” boots . . .

I have bad hips, bad genes and used to be in wellies for milking and around the yard. I bought a steel toe pair of blundstones 5 years ago and my hip pain went away.

I get 6 to 7 months out of a pair, wearing them all day 24/7. i do zero maintenance and they are wet shitty and exposed to chemicals all day long.

I bust ligaments in my ankles playing rugby when i was younger and used to limp and have a bit of pain every morning and permenent swollen ankles
Since wearing blundstones i have no more swelling and no more pain.
No idea why, maybe the ankles are engaged more for stability, not sure.

wow - I reckon I’m doing well to get 2 years out of any pair of “quality” work boots

but - I do wear them everyday & always . . .
That'd kill them here, and my feet. Odd concept for you, but here in Wales we have a thing we call 'rain'.

Now, follow me closely... what happens is that water vapour in the atmosphere condenses to form 'clouds'. These 'clouds' form in very large numbers and as the winds allow, gather together over Wales where they release their water content in droplets that fall to the ground, a lot, and this is 'rain'. (y) :)

I must say that with any Redbacks that I have the upper wears out well before the sole.
Probably because I spend approximately zero percent of my time on concrete.

Hoggs I find need a bit of breaking in but once done they are immensely comfortable new pair I start wearing on and off for a bit before the old ones are totally done, and by totally done I mean hanging, split and down to Fred flint stone levels of useability

Blimey your wife must be more forgiving than most, not many would allow boots to be worn in the house let alone bed 🙄😂😂

I wonder what happened to the "Scotch Rocker" boots that had their moment in the spotlight a few years back . Now they were the most uncomfortable looking boots that I ever saw thick leather "rocking horse" soles and looked like no give leather uppers . And yet the people who wore them - more the moorland sheep men I think , said they were easy to wear . !!
