Best herbicide for groundsel

2L Defy in your pre em helps broad leaved weeds wonders. Obviously cost is a factor.

Defy is getting cheaper though

Pre em on linseed isnt bad. Mesotrione works well. What was the old pre em, I remember there was cyanazine for peas, simazine for beans what was the linseed one?

As some have said Lexus was the go to product mixes with PDM as an autumn spray. Now without it best job I find is metsulfuron-methyl with fluroxypyr in the spring.

How big is the groundsel? In a new ley you are a bit limited in what you can use legally. 2,4D and dicamba sort it but the weeds need to be small.

When conditions are right groundsel here goes from emergence to seeding in about 3 weeks if seems

The usual Headland Polo (2,4D and MCPA) or similar plus fluroxypr for new leys will sort it. Best done when weeds are small but the grass is all there and you reckon there are no weeds left to emerge. Groundsel becomes difficult to control once it is beyond 4 true leaves. Sniff of bromoxynil might help but you didn't hear it from me.
