We put led strip lights in our indoor sheep pens. It’s better than daylight in the dark. Just got the cheapest but biggest ones from screwfix. Very easy to put in.
There are six old pendants hanging in our shed, which now have 23w LED ‘daylight’ bulbs in them. It’s like full daylight in there when they’re all on, and relatively cheap to put in.
Over my lambing pens I put a 4’ strip light (38w) over each 15’ bay, but they still seem quite dull. I will likely be taking them out and replacing with pendants & LED bulbs before lambing next Spring. Much brighter at lower running costs.
I use yellow sodium lamps and leave them on all night. Doesn't seem to bother the ewes for sleep and makes the lambing camera much easier for overnight checks.
