So, which make is best?

Loads to choose from and it seems that specs are all different, which makes it hard to choose

Not wanting a IW/Gamic style one, but a colour matched Plastic/Fibreglass one

Any pitfalls with plastic or fibreglass canopies ?

Prices for basically the same thing range from £1000 + vat to £2200+ vat and it's difficult to see any difference between makers ?

Except price

The Truckman top was already on the Hilux when I bought it. It's well made and waterproof but no good for carting a few sheep in the back because there is no ventilation. We have an IW top on the other Hilux with mesh door for carrying dogs or the odd sheep. Both are durable tops, well made and fit the purpose they were designed for. So, it all depends on what you want to use it for and the price.

+1, I have found the ventilation poor

I went up to AT4x4 at Bedale and had a look at a few - Alpha/Carryboy and Aeroklas and the Carryboy seems good value

I have one of these (the pic below is my truck) on my Invinsible £1314 inc VAT (Why pay more?) with central locking and colour coded from Storm Accessories.
