Best tines for pulling up docks etc

Just wondering people's opinion on the best profile tine for pulling docks, couch, or other long roots such as lucerne to dry them out. We have a Kvik up type rotary harrow, but it is quite narrow and slow.
We used to have a Mads Amby(?) harrow with almost vertical legs quite close together which did a good job. Would vertical spring tines do a better job than the usual angled ones? Any other wideish implement spring to mind?
(Afraid glyphosate is not an option!)

if you mean in a 'complete' cultivation way ....try  rotavating ... i know it sounds wrong,... but aparently the chap told me it reduced them in the half field that they tried it in (they were organic)

Back in the 1970’s I remember them chisel ploughing with a set of heavy drag harrows. This was followed by a marstig scuffle spring tine which lifted the twitch to the surface. After the sun had dried them a mounted set of harrows was used to drag them to rows and then a buck rake used to push them into heaps for burning.

Rotorvating was also recommended before deep ploughing but here all it did was multiply the problem with twitch. No experience with this method on docks.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
