I had them before but always went off but never caught!! So moved to barells!!

Same here. I don't think I've ever caught one in a scissor trap, despite modifying/widening them as per that chap on t'internet that someone posted a link to on here.

Talpex traps and tunnels seem to work much better for me.

Looks like I better ring the mole man then. I have trapped before now. It's quite time consuming. Then I loose interest the sheep knock the marker sticks and I loose the bloody traps.

Didn't you know moles were haemophiliacs?

Yuh, something to do with a high red blood cell content because of low oxy levels but, really, needles in corks! Better off making them get high cholesterol on marsh mallows So they die of a heart attack!

Each to their own I s'pose (y)

shotgun on a frosty morning, did 7 in 2 hours in 1 nine acre field last winter. Frost helps, so you can see fresh earths, then when you see the soil move, fire at the base of the mole hill from about 4 feet away , and obviously be carefully near walls, stoney ground etc :ninja:

Never done any good with them, get a few traps set off. Usually because I didn't get all the loose soil out of the run, they'd just push any soil left and set the trap. Younger or smaller moles can sometimes set traps off so I put them abit deeper.

www.theflatpack.co.uk are the best traps I've used, following a recommendation on here.:)(y)

Don't forget to put a peg near them so you don't lose them.

I was advised to try the 'Pest Stop' tunnel traps (sold by Wynnstay but they seem to have changed supplier) by a local 'mole man'. They have flat bottoms on the loops, so disappear into the tunnel floor better and .Mrs Mole doesn't feel them until it's too late.....:sneaky: The FlatPack ones are good quality too though.(y)
