I've used wunderground for years, but after latest update have found it isn't nearly as good.

Features i particularly liked about it was, the fact it was connected to local weather stations. Gave you alerts for rain, what time it would come on. Current weather in top bar of phone. I know i just need to look to see current weather!

Interested to know what you guys would recommend?

I like WeatherPro and use it in conjunction with Rain Today for rain alerts.

I also use the Norwegian met service app call YR.

Gave up with the Met Office years ago. I’m less than 10miles from their HQ and if they bothered to look out the window a bit they might get the local forecast right....

WeatherPro and RainToday. YR is well spoken of but I’ve not used it much. Met Office is useful for day long rain radar maps. BBC is a good cross reference app.

If they all agree, there’s a good level of confidence that it’s all right. If they all disagree then put the phone down and look out of the window!

YR is my preference too, despite being a couple of miles from Met Office HQ. Apparently when they built the office they forgot to put windows in it, so didn’t realise how wrong their current super computer was until they got caught on the A38 in an unforecasted snow storm a few years ago.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
