If we're talking good wellies then you'd be hard pressed to beat aigle parcours II but you can get your hand down the tops so not going to help with straw

That would depend on 'calf girth' I guess. I have a pair of Aigles and they are comfortably tight around the calf and don't fill with anything much. I have an old pair of Le Chameaus too, which are a lot wider at the top.

Everyone will be a different shape and fit a different kind of boot better. I like my Aigles (in the winter) as they are more supportive of my ankles than most other makes.

Aigles here. Comfortable and wear them every day in winter. This will be their 4th winter- just starting to show firstsigns of cracking, but still waterproof at the moment.

Cost about £120 iirc.

Never wear wellies unless I know I'm gonna be standing in water for any length or time, e.g. draining or fixing water pipe, a good pair of boots are far better, oh and the only wellies I have for those jobs are the chainsaw ones

Wellies????

It’s August!!
Might be August but just about need waders here 😕

I have had a pair of dunlop purafort for 2 years and have been great. Still 30% tread, but that gave out where the sole meets the upper and due to the last 2 weeks rain I had to invest in a new pair! So I give your August a 😝

Maybe @An Gof should load up on waders and goto the coast and flog them to the holidaymakers ( I understand that they don't like being called emmets or grockles as its "racist ") with a huge mark up !

So my investment is Dunlop Purafort from SW fixings, fiver cheaper than Diggory Diggory Delvets store!

Bekina Steplite X - there are 2 different tread patterns, you have to take care to order the right one for you: so-so grippy or very grippy.

I was recommended to them on a previous TFF thread and they've been brilliant.

Keeping stuff out of the tops, put trouser legs over the boots.
