Got 60 stores going Thursday, thought I'd see how you guys valued a few of the ones I could get to stand still for a photo .

2 steers are 515 and 520 kg

Heifer is 415kg and wider than the photo makes her look

Depends on the weight and grade but you can get over £1500 on a steer....good finished heifers liveweight sell like fresh cakes

Now since when has fat cattle trade ever affected strong store prices....... nicely bred cattle though.

Yep but £300 wont cover the costs of buying/ feeding/ deductions etc.

They ought to make around the figures above on the current trade.

Proper feeding cattle are easily £300+ head up on trade pre xmas.

Trade now for store cattle/ stirks is the dearest for many years.

I never said I was daft enough to pay that but there's plenty of farmers who are

Thankfully a lot of finishers do see that £300 as profit.

Long may it continue, i hope the fat gets a bit of a rise so these prices become the norm ! ive invested my whole life into producing store cattle, last time they got any where near good BSE appeared and they more than halved in value over night and year after year of producing them for bugger all became the norm.

'they' are dealers, and obviouly get 'better' grades/no deductions unlike 'Joe farmer' does
