Block built slatted tanks...

has anyone any experience of what the realistic lifespan for a block built slatted tank would be??

Its a real 'how long is a piece of string' question I know!!, just that we have a small 2 bay tank under a single pitch roofed shed and it's close to 25years on the go now, was built with12inch block and plastered both sides. Appears in really good nick, no evidence of cracking or immanent failure, but I am in the early stages of considering another shed/tank (another 2 bays, maybe 3 if feeling ambitious!!) and wondering if I should just go ahead and build the new tank (it will be shuttered!!), and I would be mirroring the old shed and making the feed passage a bit wider so wouldn't be going near the old tank), or am I in anyway near close to needing to replace the old block tank, whereas it might be as handy to replace it and extent the shed to suit. Could hardly expect another 20-25 years of maintenance free use could I??, although there is not much in the line of maintenance if it ever cracks its game over I would imagine, would hate to build the new tank and in the next 5 years have the older one fail or something!

I know its impossible to predict really, but just wondering if anyone has any real life experience....
