If there is a heating/plumbing supplies business in town, they will probablt kit you out with a Primus version of the Rothenberger for about 1/2 price, you just exchange the cylinder when it's empty.
Mine is not Piezo ignition, but sure it was an option for more money.

I’ve got Rothenberg torches, I know they are not the cheapest, but they are good quality and reliable. Also, should the worst happen, you can buy a full set of spares for them. So should last a long time.
Only one that I’ve known that was totally knackered was my brothers, he would insist on taking the torch off the bottle, for safety when the kit was in his van, I could see his point, but he wore the thread out in the torch where the bottle screws on....

Incidentally, my brother tried a cheaper alternative once, but it didn’t last that long, iirc he had a bit of an incident with it and had to throw it out of a first fooor window, in a ball of flames:eek:......he’s back to Rothenberg now:)

Nice people at ebay sent me a £10 off voucher sf 2 + map ordered ;)(y)
Cheers for advice

I wouldn't recommend using the SF2 for lead flashing work or hard to work on lead pipework, I would advise to use the micro fire additional kit for that. If making swept lead joints (not really worth it these days though, as a lead lock is far better and less hassle, or a tinned end of micro bore copper to fit the internal bore of lead, then backfilled with solder option if you know how to do it correctly), then it will be fine.

Great kit, and if outside working - I would recommend MAP gas

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
