This may be a stupid question, but we’ve been asked to drag this out of the nettles to pull up some farm tracks, and we can’t for the life of us work out how the depth wheels are set? They don’t tighten in any position, do they just drop right down and that’s the depth control?? Apologies if this is a daft question, but the machine is older than I am haha! ?

Gas them of ,throw them back in the nettles and use the drag on draft control

No gassing will be required, because the boss wanted them fitted so we’ve freed them off haha! So they come on an off quite easily now ? typical!
or carefully unbolt them and sell them to hesstondriver for cash ;) ;) ;) ;)

They come off quite easily now as we freed them off to refit like the boss asked us to ?

the clamps usually go the other way up. So the nut is higher than the hinge. Think the also need rotating round the frame a little so the wheel sticks out backwards at 45 degrees. I’d take the clamp off first and get everthing freed off. There should be a piece of angle iron that is loose inside the clamp make sure that is there. Sometimes the bolt threads get knackered and won’t tighten right up so you have to put some washers on before the nut. Have used ours with no depth wheels but it Will tend to dive in then you can do a sheer bolt, good look knocking one of those out!!! Be carful depending on what size tyres you have. If you lift cultivator too high leg can go into tyre

Thankyou for your detailed reply, the freeing off part we’ve done already because they were laying at the back of the workshop seized before we put them on. We haven’t got any angle iron inside our clamps though, so that doesn’t sound good. We had to replace some of the metal as well, so know exactly what you mean about the shear bolts!! Tight as chuff!
