Bomford superflow and lo-draft superflow

I have an ancient superflow that I find very useful at odd times, the only problem being that its not very wide. Now do I look for another wider one or 'upgrade' to a low draft superflow? Questions; are they really low draft? Do they pull up lots more clods/wet due to angle of the tines? There must be some reason as they seem to fetch more money than the other sort.

I've been looking for a good low draft for ages because they're stronger and better suited to modern ish tractors.

All the ones I've seen at dealers seem to be stupid money.

We did manage to buy a cheap second super flow out of a hedge and we cut that up and extended our existing one to 12 foot 13 tine which has made a good tool of it, we do seem to get through several shear bolts but as dad reminds me they were originally designed for MF 165's and ford 4/5000's were pulling them with 150hp+ 4 wd and wonder why they break. Admittedly we do use it more like a subsoiler last time I was doing some headlands we pushed a metal stake in behind it and it went in 18 inches[emoji50]

Believe Superflow was meant as more of a stubble cultivator, original Massey Ferguson advert had a MF 175 pulling it. Lowdraft was designed for less soil disturbance so it pulled less clots on heavier land.

Selling our 7 tine version if anyones interested £550 or make me an offer

That takes me back to summer 1982/83/84 using a Superflow behind a 2140 stubble cleaning before ploughing. Always thought it a bit heavy for chitting weeds and a Triple K would have been better...but I wasn't the boss.

got a 12 tine bomford powertrac with rubber depth wheels, being playing with the idea of mounting a 4 metre packer roller on it,??ought to sell it really as it never got used in 2018,but a good strong machine none the less, any sensible offers

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
