Budget £14k to allow for extra filtering /treatment, electric supply, cabin for expansion tank/Filters.

Yorkshire waters over £1.25/cube now and I think that's cheapish across the country?

I asked the people who do ours services, when ours was playing up last autumn, cause it looked like we'd need a new one.
Ours is 250ft deep. They said £6000 drilled and connected. I can get their phone number if you want

Around £10-£15k depending on the system. Like most things you can get them done cheaper as plenty cowboys out there but very often it's buy cheap buy twice with this sort of thing. Bloke in my area got fined for having his combined with a mains supply without the correct fittings.

In general? The limiting factor to how much you can pump is how much water the borehole produces.

And if you plan to pump over 20 cubic metres of water per day then you need an abstraction licence.

We pay Welsh Water around £1200 per year, which seemed rather a lot for a house and cottage. Water for the sprayer is collected from the roof. No livestock.

Is your 1200 include sewer ? if not you've got a leak.

Yes that is very high. Also take showers dont wallow in the bath!

If the hole is through some unstable rock or sand it will need a liner.
A submersible pump sitting 30 +metres - best not to buy cheap shite
After testing the water you may need filters. Excess Iron & Manganese are common problems
UV filter needed for drinking / dairy water
If the water is hard a softener will be needed.
+ the cost of leccy supply to the hole and pipework from the hole
Ours cost £14k and we are saving £7500 annual water bill
Running costs 2 pallets salt a year for the softener = £700 and circa £200 leccy
1 lab test year £150
So payback just over 2 years
