Borg Warner T72/520-4 Loadall

Don’t know anything about them, but sounds to my uneducated mind that the both forward and reverse packs are being simultaneously engaged - rotary selector valve issue?

Anybody any idea why the transmission might want to be pulling in both directions at once? Inching valve problems?

It will be 1 of the following.

Broken bevel piston return spring
Worn cross shaft seals/shaft or housing.
( housing can be rebored and sleeved)
Cracked weld in clutch pack drum allowing pressure to go both sides.
Broken sealing ring on clutch pack shaft allowing oil to both packs.

I know a man that will sort it for you if you want to send me PM. Either way it's a box out for full overhaul and test.

Another clue may be that the inching pedal suddenly stopped working about two years ago. Moves lever to full extent with no effect.

I know both packs are engaging but can't see in the manual from where the problem may be emanating. Got the pdf many years ago from Footsfitter, many thanks though.

no really no, sanderson used a solenoid on that instead, its not really an inching valve its a dump valve so you can change gear.
