BPS Payment 2017

We are still awaiting the outstanding 25% BPS.
Despite early promises that the RPA had until June to complete their payment no money has been forthcoming.
There has been a complete refusal by the RPA to discuss why the money is outstanding. We are given no opportunity to assist with progressing our claim and this is putting a financial strain on our business and an emotional strain on our health.
Up until the end of June the RPA have been hiding behind the fact that they had until June to pay. Since then there has been no communication from them, nor money!
How are other people in the same situation coping?

Mine wasn't a 25% shortfall because they couldn't sort my claim out, mine was a 30% shortfall because they couldn't read an RLE1 form and lost much land and EFA etc.

No news except for a vague statement that they would be dealing with 2017 backlog when they finished the 2015 and 2016 mistakes which they thought would be 'at the end of the summer'.

To answer your question as to how am I coping, the answer is, with difficulty, relying on friends who have done contract work to hang on, borrowing every penny that I can to pay feed bills and wages.

We are doing the same as you
It is not just a case that we want the money in our account. we want to put the money in other peoples accounts.
ie those that we are indebted to.
There is a complete lack of care/understanding on the part of the RPA as to the stress and distress that they are causing.

The Welsh Assembly have a complaints department.

I lodged a complaint by email when there was a delay over a payment by WAAD for no obvious reason. I received an automatic acknowledgement the same evening, and an emailed response the following morning from a staff member who promised to look into the matter for me. She provided her name, her email address and explained what her job entailed.

She emailed me the following day to say that she had spoken to the payments office in RPW, in Cardiff, and they would do their best to expedite matters. This was on a Thursday.

On Saturday we received an email saying that Glastir Entry would be paid on the next working day. On Sunday we received another email to say that Glastir Advanced would also be paid in the next few working days.

We were paid on the following Monday.

That is how devolution works - power is exercised at a local level.

I suggest the OP looks into pursuing a complaint, rather than moaning on TFF.

If only the Rural Payments Agency operated in similar vein. But does not. Hey ho. Not sure the OP is moaning, more trying to find out if he is alone. And the answer is no.

You are not alone. I am involved in several BPS claims. Still have one 2017 claim outstanding awaiting the final 25% but a small claim. Have called the helpline but to no avail.

My advice would be, get the NFU if you are a member to have a look at the case, or an independent firm that submits loads of BPS,s for farmers, they know who to talk to and should be able to give you some good advice going forward. Good luck with it.

We are still missing some of 2016 claim. We get an email every quarter saying it has now been assigned to an agent and they are looking into it but that's as far as it goes. Made numerous complaints but it's a complete waste of time. You can't speak to anyone about it. Pretty much resigned to never getting it now.

Yes, had a few 2016 claims with outstanding amounts at Jan 1 2018. Payments arrived since then - so do not lose total hop!!. Though still have two left although but amounts in both cases very small. You are not alone. I put in a call to helpline every two months. The case worker system seems pretty useless. And unlike WaltP example above I find it impossible to get to speak with anyone other than the helpline. But it is good training and experience to understand the life of benefit claimants. Hey ho.

You should have received a letter or an email giving a persons name who will be dealing with your claim.
I am in the same position as you and was told I would be contacted in 4 weeks by the named person.

The date on the email was 25th June and I found it in my Spam folder as they just send these out as bulk emails!!

I will be phoning the named person at the end of this week, but have a funny feeling they won't be there.
