2018 exchange rate was €1 = 0.89281 , this year's Septembers average is at 0.892202 by my calculation
https://www.exchangerates.org.uk/EUR-GBP-exchange-rate-history.html

i dont know if its possible to find out yet what the entitlement value is in euros for 2019 and what the financial disciple will be? if you can find that out you can have a good guess

2015 €248.02 @0.73129 = £181.37
2016 €252.98 @0.85228 = £225.61
2017 €258.15 @0.89470 = £230.96
2018 €259.52 @0.89281 = £231.70

2019 €259.52?? @ 0.892202 = £231.54

Nobody knows, the agricultural bill proposed phasing them out by 2027. That bill hasn't gotten through parliament yet. If/when there is a general election the next government will get to decide whether to keep the bill or start a new one.

I think we all need to prepare for subsidy payments to reduce..... possibly by up to 75% ? Or 100%
But as it stands.... we are still in EU so the subsidy will continue.
When we leave.... then it’s up to the Govt. current Agricultute Bill proposed phasing out by 2027 and replacing by ELMS
If we have left the EU and there’s a General Election and the Agriculture Bill hasn’t passed, then in theory the payments could stop immediately as this Govt has promised payments will continue til the end of this Parliament
It’s all up in the air
Hence my budgets forecasts are difficult to predict

It is an interesting question! The only safe budget/cashflow is to assume there will either be a long delay in payment or even no BPS at all! :wtf: As things stand, right now anything could happen! If Brexit is delayed and we are still in the EU then payment will be within 10% of what you got last year. If we are out of the EU then absolutely nothing is certain, I don't believe there is any UK legislation on the statue books to replace BPS. Without legislation there will be no payment and certainly no known payment value until such time as a relevant Agricultural Bill is passed by parliament. Such legislation is not going to be top priority as parliament will have a raft of bills to pass, given the parliamentary numbers few bills are going to get passed before an election is run. I may always be a doom monger but parliament hasn't excelled itself over the past 2 years so I what confidence do we have of that changing any time soon! Business can't survive on blind optimism and agriculture will be at the back of the legislative queue.

To sum up, don't let the wife get carried away with the Christmas shopping...

They'll always be subsidy due to food prices. They might disguise it as an environmental payment but at the end of the day its for the same thing which is to keep the food cheap on the supermarket shelves. Expensive food = riots. If you budget long term on getting 50% of the your last 10 year average you won't be far out.
