BR 7060 net wrap problem

Can anyone help identify why my NH BR 7060 round baler won't fully net wrap a bale?
After "full bale" alert it wraps for less than a turn, then cuts net. Alarm then sounds. Only by using the "extend" and "retract" keys can I get it to wrap successfully.
I've altered number of wraps from 3 to 5 without any seeing any improvement. Diagnostic check on little counter roller confirms its magnet switch is working.
Any ideas out there?

Does the alarm sound as if its finished netting and ready to empty the bale or does it come up with an error? If the first option then I'd be curious about the counter on the roller, or something causing it to count turns quicker! If I remember rightly if you manually wrap a bale you let go of the switch once the net is going on and it takes over until the rotations have been completed, does this work fine? If so then theres a problem somewhere with the auto side of things it's either being tricked by something or the reading isnt getting back to the box properly, I'd make sure all plugs and connectors are clean first and the connections onto the battery are 100% I had one where the connection was a bit dodgy and sometimes it just wouldnt wrap a bale!

In answer:
When alarm sounds the bale wrap icon is arrowed. After this the manual wrap key doesn't work, but I suspect this is because I didn't clear alarm. - The only way I could get net onto bale was to "extend", count to ten and them "retract" for it to stop and cut.
- It is new to me. I had faith in previous owner's honesty! It had only done 7k bales, according to control box. It is directly wired to tractor's battery and shows a good voltage.

When it puts the net in automatically, it should put the net in, then retract the duckbill about half way out so the net can spread out properly across the net feed rollers.

Is it doing this or is it putting the net in and then cutting it straight away?

If its cutting it straight away, and not stopping to let spread out it may need calibrating to tell it where to stop and not just keep going till it cuts it.

We had a problem with ours where it wouldnt cut the net and it just needed calibrating.

Hope this makes sense?

This is how to calibrate the net actuator

Thank you. That sounds the most plausible reason. In my pre-season checks I did the net roller counter one (item 19), but did the not do the item 13. I'll work on it this week. Looks like there is little hope of testing it in hay until the the sun comes out...... next week?!

Escort,
I've re-calibrated the net actuator. Setting was only a little out. Was 21, should be 23-27. Now set at 25. Let's hope it solves the problem I'll let you know at the first whiff of hay, soon I hope! NLH

There is a "get you out of a muddle" remedy if the problem persists and you need to keep going.

There are 2 buttons on the bottom left row of the control box.
One manually feeds the wrapping shoe in and the other takes it out. That will at least keep you going.
All you need to do is wait about 2-5 seconds once it is fully in, before taking it out again, to wrap the bale with net.

Mind you, the bloody box will beep at you and have a complete stressy while you do this until the shoe is fully out again.
