The only way to stop that happening is to stop every truck at the port of entry, or as it gets of Eurostar and open back doors and insert sniffer dog. Can do that no whether UK in or out of EU. Presume no political will from Conservative Party. And will need to do same after UK leaves EU.
Alternative explanation: the UK actually needs immigrants.

It (and Bob) just doesn't like them.

It's not a big deal, unless you're Bob.

UK may need immigrants - that is another issue. But it is a damn odd way to go about it just having any old Tom, Dick or Sally who has the balls to risk death jump off the back of a lorry. There may be a couple of neurosurgeons, a paediatric nurse or computer engineer in the back of that truck but somehow I doubt it. If we want and need immigrants then I would be grateful for the government regardless of who it is to man up, say so and organise some sensible policy and admission criteria. That is what Brexit allows - so do it.

I suspect the primary problem is still Bob...

Thus far, the UK wishes to discourage unskilled immigration, even though we appear to need unskilled immigrants, This general confusion is, I think, caused by the lack of an informed public debate which, naturally enough, should predicate a policy.

Instead of a public debate, you get Bob saying he doesn't want immigrants coming into the country. It tends to discourage politicians from stimulating honest discussion.

I know. Was that not what the referendum showed. I observed it in my own village. Generally a dislike of the change brought about by in my area influx of East Europeans as evidenced by preponderance of Polish / Baltic shops in the local town high street. Bear in mind my own constituency was 60 : 40 to leave and just to the east was 75 : 25 to leave.

Ah, I see that the autoprig is on top form again... tell us Wally, do you think that there should be any limits to immigration at all and, if so, on what basis?

Don't be so sensitive, there's nothing to be ashamed of in being against immigrants, Bob.

Otherwise UKIP wouldn't exist, would it?

The challenge is to square the circle - the UK actually needs immigrants, yet doesn't want them, or like them much. As your view, expressed by a video linking immigration with Brexit, confirms.

Like N Ireland, the UK needs to change its terms of reference, otherwise it'll just go round and round in pointless circles. Like Theresa may has been doing since last year.
