I am still trying to work how on earth Corbyn can still be electable in some peoples eyes. Reading today about Kate Osamour shadow international development secretary.. So her son is caught with large amount of drugs going into a music festival 2.5ks worth. He claims he was keeping it for friends and it was not going to be sold. So far this would be embarassing but what can you do with your kids..
Except MP mum continues to employ him as communications officer on 45k a year he gets elected as a Haringey councillor . When convicted at court she claims she knew nothing of it but unfortunately for her a Times reporter finds out at court she had written to the Judge asking for leniency (So a liar as well)
When asked by the Times reporter for a comment she says she wishes she had a baseball bat to smack him in the face.
Further news JC gave her mother a peerage , who was well known for her support of anti semites that had been punished by the party for their anti semitism.
JC accepts her resignation with regret and says she brought a new dimension to the role of tackling global inequality....
Meanwhile we have Diana Abbott on call to help with the numbers and policing..
Hard ,soft, leave or remain Brexit is not the worst thing that could happen.

Probably shows the state of the the country! A choice of which lot of crooks and idiots do you want controlling your life. The sad thing about all this lunacy is that the one thing that will suffer the most is democracy itself, as people turn to other more radical and unsavoury courses of political action. :(

You really could turn this on it’s head and ask why people think the tories are electable. Crime round here grows ever worse yet until (very) recently the home office were artificially massaging crime figures down and using them as justification for reducing police numbers. What you are left with is the gated communities of London and the Wild West. Same with everything else if you are not in the city of London it’s a big fat “feck off” from them.

The only reason the tories are in with a good chance is that most sane people see what Labour will bring and run back to the admittedly very mediocre tories.

Suppose the easy thing to say is the French take their frustrations and grievances onto the street where as the Brits just go to the pub and moan about it. And more often than not it can get results, hence the farmers are so good at mass mobilisations which they often do in coordination with other groups like truck drivers etc. Government in France has a long history of nervousness of the people ever since the revolution, hence nearly every town and village has it's gendarmerie ( a paramilitary organisation) to keep an eye on what the populous is up to.

Gilets Jaunes I think has been hijacked to some extent by far right and left agitators just looking for a rumble. The farming unions would not to support it, but said if individuals wanted to it was up to them. I am on the fence, global warming needs to be tackled but why is it county folk who always have to pay the price to do it.

Time is right for the NOTA party to get established. (Non of the above) As farmers are nationwide and from the views on here could sort the country out in two minutes I suggest we put ourselves forward as candidates for this new party. Obviously an MP's wage would be a welcome addition to compensate for any loss in subs.

There have been lots of protests.

The biggest ones have been by Momentum and Labour.

However there have been protests mainly by Tommy Robinson against the Unsavoury practices of HMG on the lower class white communities. These have involved 100,000s of people but haven't been reported unless they can stage some "Violence".

I am yet to see any recognition from anyone in this thread of how you are manipulated on a daily basis by the media.

You'd have to be a complete moron not to recognise how biased the BBC is .. recognise it's controlled by HMG .. and it only takes a small amount of research to find out ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 are all state controlled. For obvious reasons.

You've got the democracy you deserve because you keep voting for it .. I would have thought by watching how the establihment have dealt with Brexit you now know how shallow that democracy is.

The Conservatives presented themselves as the sane choice (strong and stable) last time. Can’t see them being able to use that rubbish again.
As a lifelong "Conservative " I agree with you. They have let me down and have not done as promised in their last manifesto.
Unless they get a new LEADER in the coming few days they are doomed to lose the next election,to a mixture of Left and ultra left parties.

As a lifelong left of center voter I can assure you that the Labour Party are no more united the Tories. Anything could happen at the next election. Personally I think Corbyn is a better leader than many give him credit for, but he is wrong not to support May’s deal. His strategy seems to be trying to splinter the conservatives on the narrow issue of Europe. This seems to ignore the fact that May’s deal delivers Labour policy of remaining in the customs union. Others in the party seem to be dragging policy toward an even more pro EU stance. Something they should not do without first having an election with a clear manifesto pledge to re join the single market. Don’t get me wrong I think Brexit is a mistake and we should change our collective minds, but Labour haven’t got a mandate to do that right now. Although it doesn’t chime with my personal beliefs I reckon Labour should let Brexit be and defeat the Tories on other issues. The much maligned Diane Abbot is right to remind them there is no certainty that remain would win atm, therefore opposing Brexit is politically very risky.

There has been a lot of comment recently regarding the adverse economic effects of Brexit, TM's 'deal' and no deal etc. etc., well you all know my position on this and I know yours so I won't kick the ars* out of it any further.

But... it is interesting that the few comments I have heard from big business, the banks etc. when interviewed and asked about the risk of a Corbyn government, have all stated that it would be worse than a 'no deal' Brexit.

So, changing the tack a wee bit, is anybody at the point where they really, genuinely believe JC will be PM &, if so, what prep are they doing for it? The business 'leaders' were all pretty coy when asked, I guess because they thought it fairly unlikely, didn't want to tell or, perhaps, were too frightened to do so.

Thoughts?

“Should be” three and a half years to go yet. That’s basically as long as a us president is active for.

A very good point, a great deal could happen in that time.

What every country needs is a Taxpayers alliance to run candidates in elections and hopefully hold the balance of power. Its about time that those that pay the piper got to call the tune.

Sadly, it would all too soon become what it was conceived to replace, it is the way of things. :(

So long as you don't mean the Taxpayer alliance in the UK, which in reality is a hard right lobbying organisation with a very dubious background.
