Yes. I left them to it as I was busy. Big mistake. They made little more than beef price. Never again. Going to have a big castrating session next week. Not worth the hassle

Dont want to like, couple locals asked us about bulls but only offer bit above beef price, never worth it

That's a shame. I liked look of one of them and checked how far it was to the sale, but it was to far

They prefer tb4 up there. Local simi breeder even moved to Scotland when he went annual

Plenty tb1’s in Cumbria, more demand than supply so I think you could be surprised

really pleased with the calves, I was a bit unhappy with the calves from riverlino 592, thought they were a bit small and weedy, they have caught up now.the bas 8 and beernard 26 calves look good, this year we are using sem 17, hoping to add fat/protein, and we like his stats. he will be used on the stronger fr types. we are using a genie bull, a young sire called slash, on the smaller x breds, he is plus height / width /body, plus a bit of milk, and static f+p, the smaller x breds are fine on f/p.
interestingly we have calved some bought in as calves,from a strict grass farming system, where they just keep some nice looking bull calves, and turn them in, no AI, and they are milking well ! makes a carefully planned breeding programme look a bit iffy !!!!!!

Off the top of my head I think quinten, Elijah and Samson all have hylke quite close in the pedigree not sure about jingle

I think all the sexcel we have been offered has Hyllke I them, he was defiantly popular! Might have to just use normal on them,or even Holstein!

Jingle’s dam is breed by Hylke
I’ve served some milking heifers by jingle to bryster and Samson hoping hylke is just far enough back in the breeding
