Had my own consultant at start of week then spent 3 hours yesterday doing the Arla R500 scheme figures. Long and short am going to commit fully to using friesian for the foreseeable, also going to start hunting some pure heifers/cows as brood animals.

Is that because of the figures r 500 has shown or were you always heading that way.

Not wholly just an accumulation. Really believe to suit my farm I need to at least have the option to make the cows produce milk cheaply in summer. We ain’t going anywhere near 40ppl any time soon and milk without other incomes at 26/28 cop.

Friesian fan, what, in your opinion, is the best available bull that gives plus components, and reduces stature, but widens the chest.
good luck at sedge tomorrow.
Don’t often get asked that. Most want positive stature! Josh and James are big positive on stature, so they’re no good. Lake mead Marshall is positive on chest width and negative on stature but has poor legs and feet and poor components. My best compromise is Goonhilly Joseph. Only slight positive stature with positive chest width and high components. Sorry to say one of my bulls:unsure:
