I bloody said he would drop last year 🤦‍♂️🤣 got told not to worry as he's proven nevermind🙈
Be good to see how they compare!
If there's joseph available you would like them I reckon bit more holsteiny imo but still strong and nice, just very elegant
I used Joseph only have 5 and they were nice heifers but wouldn’t say they’ve developed into as good a cows as the lords that are the same age. Was 150 milk as a genomic bull now -301.

Not heard much feedback about him, but I am well happy with my Gabriels. Used him on sensible type HFs. Good udders, milk, fertility size. Would use him again if sexed

I've not seen any Lords so couldn't comment, my 2 or 3 Joseph's seem to be fine milk wise tbf, I do like them though
Not bad cows, nice temperments, milk away not so bad. Just not blown away by them. Whereas with the lords there’s not many AI bulls that breed full black feet and I just like how they’re put together more frame to them. I would have rather used James or josh I think. Like the look of cameron.

Liked the look of him too until I saw his fertility index. But that could all change in time.

Is fertility index really worth bothering about with Friesians? It's the lowest hereditability genomic trait, and the Friesian base for fertility is already set very high. Unless it's a minus 5 I wouldn't be concerned.

There's an element of that, but what you don't want is to end up accidentally breeding poor fertility in. Plus fertility absolutely hammers pli so if you're bothered about that it's a bit of a no no unfortunately

He is definitely better on type than contender - when I used him I'm almost certain he positive chest width but think they must have changed- good old genomics 🤣 having said that the contender calves I have here look fantastic and are anything but negative, have backs as wide as tables!

Wouldn't say there's much in it milk wise but fat would be the decision maker for me personally! But probably won't use either of them.
My favourite bull available right now is patriot by a country mile. His genomic are solid as a rock and his calves are stylish - plus he's red!!
I like the look of kerevi from genus as he's got an awesome sire stack behind him. But again his fat figures, fertility and chest width put me off slightly

Seb is a fantastic choice for anything milky and I like the look of carlyon but can't use negative fat bulls 🤔

Gtw is a no go unfortunately having dropped 100pli points this proof run 🙄 jake, Jay and jigsaw are sitting nicely so will be ordering more.

Probably going to order some veritas as he's had a good proof and has some very nice figures. Love his dam as well and haven't used his sire so less risk of inbreeding. Fertility being his main negative.

Ted, surprise and judd have all had a nice proof run as well so may look at them too.

Although not many new bulls available this autumn there are lots of bulls in the pipeline for next spring. Both of the big 2 have taken quite a few very good and interesting bulls born this spring.
What's your bull to cow ratio @Jdunn55 ? I use about 6 bulls for the herd here milk about 230 + followers, it's balance between too much choice and spreading risk...

230 cows here /3 bulls
Used to be on 500 cow farm / 3 bulls
Can’t understand the use of so many bulls but I’m not pedigree or breeding bulls
Should have some seb calves on the farm next month

I use about 4 bulls normally, plus an extra one or two for the odd cow for contract matings. As the herd grows I doubt I shall use many extra bulls but will order more straws of the same bulls so the ratio will increase if that makes sense
