Broken baler parts šŸ˜¢ Feeder tine holders and torsion springs for NH Hayliner Compact 65e

Hi Baler wizards,

I've got some broken parts on my New Holland Hayliner Compact 65e

One of the cast iron tine holders on the feeder carriage has broken. It still works, but for how long...? (See pic)

Also three of the torsion springs that hold the tines in working position have corroded and snapped. They flop down by gravity, but they would obvs work better if sprung.

All enquires seem to lead to Woodfield Balers, but they don't have them bits.

Can't find torsion springs to fit those axles either. They're 20mm dia.

The rubber bushes have gone too, but I'm improvising them out of blue alkathene - 25mm inside 32mm.

Any ideas on where to get or how to rig the other bits?

Cheers
Joe

The tine holder doesn't look that complex, surely a decent engineering shop should be able to fabricate something that will replicate its function, if not be exactly the same piece of metal? And the spring looks a fairly standard torsion spring, you should be able to get an off the shelf version that would do a job:

I think you're right. That's a great website for springs, thank you!

Not knocking you for using an old baler i have worked on h/h balers for 44yr's and the 575 is a good reliable model but as you are finding out keeping old machines going is only viable if you can find the spares and time to spend on it, there seem's to be a fair few of the 276's being broken up but no good for you, as regard's the spring's fit a couple of small brk's with light pull off spring's should do the same.
