Total joke ,appears to be making my bills up as it likes.Line off a week ( damaged line miles away) offered £15 then charged me £40 late payment because I refused to pay until bill was addressed for no service. It was paid Monday after 4 hours on the phone sorting it.Then found out a private house had £50 .Friday another bill late payment added to that ,now another bill this morning and another late payment. How many damn bills do I get plus I am now told on Friday to pay the bill before it arrives.Guess what BT just been my line is off again fault 3 mile away.Anyone else having problems ,I’m getting 3 bills a month.

BT are a totally inept company . We had months of hassle sorting a bill that arrived out of the blue for two years rental on a BT business line, from BT private . The two sides of the same company seemingly don't talk to each other or communicate. We spent over 20 hrs on the phone talking to people in India pretending to be in the UK and explaining it all over. Oh no you must talk to BT business, Oh no you must talk to BT private. ..... The line was then cut off by BT private even though the contract was with business. In the end contacting the CEO of BT got us in touch with his specialist team, who eventually sorted it after several more weeks and calls, e mails etc. As soon as we can lose them altogether the happier I will be. Bunch of winkers with zero interest in their customers.

Get yourself a web domain. eg myfarm.co.uk I use " 123 reg " there are loads of options. You don`t need bother with a web site, (unless you realy want one )
With that you can create numerous email addresses eg. Fred @myfarm.co.uk etc etc
As mentioned above your bt address will continue to work but you can over a period change your contacts off BT onto your new address.
Then by the time BT realise you dont have an account with then & stop your email address working you should have everyone useing your new addresses

The internet went down in our office on the estate. We phoned up but were told it was an area-wide issue and they were working on it. Next day, same message, and the next and the next... went on for a fortnight.
I then asked around and found out that all the neighbouring houses, plus our office conversions, which all use the same phone line coming up from the village, were working. So I phoned up, only to be told it was an area-wide issue....!!

At this point I lost patience and took to Twitter, copying in BT.

Within a couple of hours I’d had a DM, and after a couple of exchanges I had a phone call from someone from BT who was tasked with sorting it.
To cut a long story short, although it took several weeks longer, they sorted it. This guy called me every day, they sent out engineers etc, it finally felt like they were on top of the job.

Social media is your friend...!

We wanted to move but were told my wife would lose her bt.com email address which she’s had for donkeys years , I would have thought that’s bordering on being illegal .
left BT 5 years ago and was told I would lose the bt.com email address guess what 5 years later I still have it and not paying for it either but I did get a gmail account set up just in case

This happened to me, left BT and then one day out of the blue my email had gone, no warning , no chance to save anything. Rang BT and after a long wait was put through to a call centre somewhere in Europe and asked what happened and the guy said because I left BT I lost my email. So I said that was ok but I needed to retrieve a lot of important stuff in there but he said nothing could be done it was gone which sounded cobblers to me but after a week of phone calls I was no further forward.
Set up a new email but a few months later I was looking for something that I knew was in my BT mail so just thought I'd try and sign in and there it was, working perfectly. Of course it was to late by then I'd changed everything but its still there and working and I never went back to BT. The bloody hassle it caused me, Bt are :poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop:

We have always been with BT and not had any issues, but it does seem that BT and Openreach have very poor internal communications. A friend with a new build property has spent most of the summer getting a new BT line connection, the cables were all laid at the cost of the site developer, but the buck passing shenanigans' between BT and Openreach about who actually joins the wires together was disgraceful. I believe all is sorted now......(y)

Had that too, we built a new house last year and they were here 3 times to fit my router even though they had never brought the cable to the house, that was no communication between BT and Openreach and the subbie brought in to put the cable in. ended up in the chairman of BT's office before it was sorted.

Why the fudge anyone would sign up to fudging BT for an email account I have no idea. Hotmail or GMail are far superior, work with Outlook properly and are totally free. It's a no brainer.

I have a Gmail account for actual emails, and a Hotmail account that is purely for marketing and other spurious carp. You can't go wrong.

Our neighbour who,s not with bt gets us to chase any faults on our line when there's a problem because he can't do any good with whoever he's with
We are with bt.
Someone else I know was without a phone for weeks because his provider wouldn't sort out who was responsible for repairing it.

BT are generally very good at repairing lines as long as you have a business rather than domestic account. There are also a few different levels of service you can subscribe to, so if your phone and internet is critical to your business, pay a couple of Quid extra for 24 hour repairs.
