I am looking for a small inverter welder for the shed. It will only be used for small jobs around the farm. Have anyone got advice on what I should look for or avoid?
Or what brand would be descent for a small budget

We got a Jasic, it’s been sent back twice in first 18 months because of problems. It was repaired with out any hesitation. I’d have another, it welds very well.

Got a parweld 160 had it 4 years many used for gate hooks it’s been good for that. It’s nice and small and happy at the on of 70m of extension lead.

Sip hg2300 £550 online. 200a 60% duty @200a 2t and 4t trigger. MMA with it. Light and portable. Great little budget machine that has uk back up.

We are still a member, i'd back up most recommendations including GYS, Parweld and Jasic. The only thing one i'd avoid is SIP, they're not known for the quality of their welders and there's plenty on the market from out and out welding manufacturers for less than £550.

Weve got a 200 amp Sip weld mate (green one ) had it for several yrs, it gets dragged around the yard , out on the gennie, long leads and alsorts of real life use.

Its very useful and paid for its approx. 250 quid a long time ago.

I thought this was a thread about budget inverter welders. Just browsing some ridiculously cheap ones on ebay. No Idea how they can get so many amps from such tiny boxes or how long they would last though.

Seems that some folks have a different idea of budget than others. My Lidl special has lasted longer than the reports for Parweld, and cost I think £60. It can weld thin wire (actually weld mesh based hay rack) with 1.6mm rods, up to I think 2.5mm on some reasonably heavy stuff. It's not going to be able to make a shed or a trailer, but it can stick stuff together so it won't break apart again - including a New Holland clutch cable bracket to get me home.

Edit, it's 10-80 Amps and has a 3 year warranty.
