Bull with growth/wart over his eye

We have a young bull, 12mths old, with a growth or a wart over his eye. It's not on his eyelid but more like just under his eyebrow. Vet had a look at it a month ago and said it was a wart but wasn't effecting his eye and he could take it off of we wanted. It's now grown quite a lot since and is starting to irritate him. Someone else has said its excessive scar tissue so could grow back.
We have shown the bull and on his only two times out got a reserve junior and a male champion. We were planning on selling him next spring at a society sale (unless we sold him privately before hand). So my question is do we take the growth off and keep him until spring or beef him in the near future?

Purely from a buyers point of view it may put some folk off, whilst it should not effect his performance it might annoy him.

If you had the choice between 2 bulls and they were similar in every way and the same price, you would buy the one without the growth.
I would definitely try and remove it rather than beef him though - taking vets advice.

Strange looking growth.

pull it about and make it bleed [sometimes you can pull them off] it makes the animal make immunity to it instead of excepting it and it will fall off in time, not a nice job but there you go

Thanks for all the replies, we'll ring the vet tomorrow to have it removed.
We've been reluctant to try the other methods mentioned due to it being so close to his eye and also the risk of flies on the wound at this time of year.
@Davy_g we definitely wouldn't have sold him for breeding with the wart

Just an update on the bull. We tied a piece of string tightly around the base of the wart. After a few days we tightened the string then after about a week it had gone really manky and almost rotten so we pulled it off and a root came with it. We left it for a few weeks to fully heal over but he'd got another forming next to the first so we did the same as the first but this one came away as dad was putting the string on. Also any tiny ones elsewhere on his body have also disappeared.
So it looks like he won't be made into burgers just yet after all :)

this lad has lots of warts on his face and neck, some quite big, noticed one bleeding today as they were walking past to get weighed, I'm not worried about them, but how long do you think it would take for them to disappear @Henarar

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.
