Might need some megalac for the highs next year, got plenty of cows that I'll want to push north of 9000l next year and will need some help doing that via an oopf, also got holsteins arriving shortly 😱😬
New you would go for the Holstein you got the system to suit and the cow care

Surely Friesians don’t need megalac. Don’t forget keep it simple.
Ive found It's very easy to over complicate things, especially diets and I have to keep reminding myself to do exactly as you say and keep it simple. Having said that I have my oopf which personally at £200 I think were a very good investment and should my high fielders struggle for energy next year I could potentially add megalac to the cake in the oopf which would help them out but if I can avoid using them all the better, especially as it adds £40/t on!

Meant to be today I thought, but got it wrong and its tomorrow, her sticker is however still silver 😬🤞
Should also add, shes very much my leader cow now same as yours, she never used to be but shes become very affectionate and follows me everywhere which is great as the others follow her
If she's empty, its gonna be like an episode of geronimo when she gets......

Just getting quotes back for a 22% protein cereal blend, very high quality with no filler crap (palm kernal etc) what would everyone be expecting price wise? Just wanting to make sure my budgets are correct!

Only feeding 2kg over the winter hence why protein is high to make sure they're getting enough - would support m+20 litres

Funnily enough my regular supplier just got back to me bang smack in the middle but said they've got new prices coming tonight/tomorrow and are hoping to see everything drop atleast £10/t and will let me know as soon as they know

I've budgeted 300 so was a very nice surprise!
I’m glad reality is setting into the feed trade. Can’t get my head around the prices currently, never mind a rise!

Anyone else had prices in the last week?

Been quoted £280 for 18% CP to fix for 6 months

Difficult knowing what to do at current prices, was told to hold out till end of Sept but gut feeling is to get some cover

It's not far off, depending on spec.

My high spec 18% is a couple of quid more.
My 22% still begins with a 2.....for now😨.

Fixing, who knows. I certainly don't fancy it at current prices.

What’s wrong with maize gluten at those silly prices. Better feed £40 less
