Calf pen bases

Looking ideas for bases to mount individual calf pens without concreting a plinth. Been looking at plastic pallets? Looking for something that urine will drain through?

Place I worked at once had these laid on their side in the calving boxes, the bed stayed very dry

How long they going to be in individual pens? Ours stay in for upto 14 days just have thick wad of straw Not shaken up. No juices, no flies, easy to clean.
