Calf powder

I rang my preferred supplier after reading this as I will need another pallet. Currently £28.30 a bag or £1415 a ton. He's putting in a artic load order for July and has said it will be cheaper not dearer so just had 15 bags to tide me over.
That is Shine sweet complete.

choosing a CMR is a difficult business...very difficult to gauge the effectiveness of higher protein or higher fat.
Skim based or whey ?
It used to be said that skim based helped to prevent scours but I seem to remember that idea has been discredited these days.
How do people choose what CMR to feed?

As a matter of interest this the powder i will be selling in oz in about a months time...the premium has bovatec in it for cocci prevention...

The farms who tested it very happy...so see how it goes...

Not sure where it stacks up price wise compared to what you guys have to pay!

24-27% protein seems to be mainstream here and 18-21% fat...in USA they seem to be a bit lower in alot of mixes i see advertised over there.

Bovatec is used in a few, good option if you buy calves in from lots of dairies etc...of course all the advisers say only buy calves from dairies you know have high hygiene and do this and do that...yeah ok...out here in the real world where the buffalo roam..one must adapt to the challenges presented to us in life...

Getting starter ration correct for fresian steers is my next mission...economically..not throw the kitchen sink at them approach...

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
