Hi

I've been looking for a while at a calving gate in a frame The IAE heavy duty one seems to be the best I've seen. Does anyone have one and how are you getting on with it?

Cheers

During my first season last year I found cattle hurdles and a head yoke that just fitted on the end of them to be most flexible. Can set it up where you need it in minutes, and dismantle it if the cow goes down. Yoke needs to allow cow to go down to ground though, so it doesn't throttle itself. Best lash it to a stanchion if it's a bit wild.

I've got a iae deluxe version where you can remove the bars for Caesarian but can't say how well it's going as I bought it and havnt got round to finding anywhere suitable to fit it, it's been sat in the yard for the past 3 years.

Get on great with Mine. I set mine up as the dividing gate between 2 pens so it can be used from either side. They are great for calving , suckling etc I now would be lost without, I have 5 at the moment and will be ordering another 2 for this spring

We put one each side of the shed as part of small pens. A lot easier and safer than using the crush for c sections and suckling calves on. Gates aren't perfect but if your cows are quiet enough you can get away with opening the gate back round when the head is held at the front.
